BHP Billiton Environmental compliance, Air Quality Monitoring & Management Plans

About This Project

BHP BILLITON ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE, AIR QUALITY MONITORING & MANAGEMENT PLANS

Providing advice to BHP Billiton Iron Ore related to Environmental Approvals (e.g. Works Approvals, Vegetation Clearing Permits), Anthony:

  • Compiled Monthly and Annual Environmental data (eg. waste, water, energy consumption, air quality)
  • Reported on these findings in accordance with industry requirements
  • Maintained legal compliance and environmental risk registers for a site and nearby exploration areas

Anthony ensured that BHP’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) accreditation was maintained for their site, providing a thourough understanding of the requirements to maintain documentation and records, prepare for an audit, conduct and audit and respond to audit findings.

Anthony was also responsible for reviewing air quality and meteorology documents for numerous sites in the Eastern Mines region of Western Australia, seeing him consolidate his assessments into an Air Quality Monitoring Report as well as a Management Plan.

In consolidating these documents he had to consider relevant site licence conditions, monitoring procedures (including meteorology), data collection and reporting and how air quality was integrated into legal compliance and risk registers and the ISO14001 EMS.
